Albel (Speaker Icon.svg /aw'bəl/; Albelic: البيل الاشتراكي,Basque: يستيتيكو سوزياليستا بيل ), is a confederation of massive city-states spread across the Lasham-Ramil Archipelago. The country is characterized by the governmental ideals of Aesthetic Traditional-Socialism. The name is described in Albelic Law as carrying "A subversive nature, lacking the pomposity of old, and making little risque in the fascist corners of the world".

The country suffered a revolution in January 8th, 1972 when the seemingly right-wing party Altahaluf Altaqlidiu took power and started incentivizing socialist revolution, the transition of power was subtle and almost non-violent due to this, and the subversive nature of Belic socialism was ingrained in the new laws put forward after it.

Since its foundation, the country has described itself internationally as a wimple state, but internally its power structures are characteristically socialist, with many calling Albel a rogue state and a threat due to its powerful industrial base and subversive nature.

Etymology[edit | edit source]

The name Albel comes from a corruption of the Jungastian name for the main island, "Ilha Bela" became corrupted as a personal noun for the name of the area as a whole. Amalurra is used by the Basques to describe the whole area, and derives from the Basque "Homeland".

History[edit | edit source]

Geography[edit | edit source]

Albel controls most of the Lasham-Ramil Archipelago, extending across 400 islands. The main islands from west to east, are Alrayisiun, Nagusia and Barhan, the country currently occupies 53,568 km2 and lacks any land borders. Large projects of land reclamation have been taking place across the main cities since the late 17th century.

Albel is one of the most urbanized countries in the world due to the rapid expansion of urban zones since 1926. The islands of Albel are located in a subduction zone between the Central Iapetus Plate and the Eurybian plate. They are primarily the result of an older hot spot in the Eurybian plate during the last 15 million years, the hot spot came to a halt after hitting the Central Iapetus Plate and forming Alrayisiun, which is the only main island with a still active volcano.

Around 60% of the country is mountainous. Extensions of the same mountain range stretch across the Lasham-Ramil and underwater across the sea of Darar, forming many of the islands, and joining with the Santa Cruz Islands of Jungastia.
