The Allied Eastern States (AES; Rovsnoski: Savezničke Istočne Države; Yarovan: Союзнические Восточные Штаты; Gradinskan: Sprzymierzone państwa wschodnie), officially the Alliance for the Cooperation and Defense of Eastern Artemia, is a regional intergovernmental organization made up of Eastern Artemian nations. The AES is formed around the tenants of Easternism, focusing heavily on preserving Eastern Artemia from "western influences" and what has been perceived as economic imperialism. The AES encourages cooperation in economic, political and military affairs and has certain powers relating to the coordination of trade, finance, lawmaking, and security.
The Allied Eastern States was signed into existence on July 11th 2001 by Ataman Yulian Antonovich of Lestykhol, President XXXX of Gradinska and Grand Marshal Viktor Martić of Rovsnoska in Krvnigrad to counter what they believed to be increased Yarovan, Pan-Artemian Coalition, and League of Free Nations influence within the region and expand cooperation between the nations of Eastern Artemia. Svenskt, Osorra, and Austrasia became partners shortly after to gain a larger economic influence within Eastern Artemia and support closely ideological nations. Controversially Yarova, Aukalnia, and Sartland became partners in 2020 with the election of Tanas Gruzdev.
Organizational structure[edit | edit source]
All AES members must be within the region of Eastern Artemia, however what is Eastern Artemia has been a source of controversy as Samotkhe is internationally recognized as being a part of Central Artemia, albeit sharing many cultural and political aspects with the east. The observer system allows for any nation within Artemia to associate with AES. Partners of AES are given the economic benefits, but are barred from making any important AES decisions or becoming involved in the Defense Council. An extension to the partner program was made in Osorra was allowed into the partner program due to its close political and cultural ties to Eastern Artemia, although being in Avalonia.
Defense Council[edit | edit source]
The AES Charter establishes the Defense Council, which is vested with the task of coordinating military cooperation of the AES member states. To this end, the Council develops conceptual approaches to the questions of military and defense policy of the AES member states; develops proposals aimed to prevent armed conflicts on the territory of the member states or with their participation; gives expert opinions on draft treaties and agreements related to the questions of defense and military developments; issues related suggestions and proposals to the attention of the AES Council of the Heads of State. Also important is the Council's work on approximation of the legal acts in the area of defense and military development.
Every other year, the member nations of the AES participate in Biennial Military Exercises and War Games to ensure effect military cooperation and provide valuable training to their troops. If a member of AES is invaded by an outside force it is required for all members of AES to come to the defense of the invaded nation. It is not required for AES members to support invasions began by nations within AES or domestic conflicts such as the ongoing Graznavan Insurgency.

Wargames[edit | edit source]
AES has held biennial war games since 2003, held in: Destland, Lestykhol, Rovsnoska, and Samotkhe. The goals of these war games have generally been to better joint cooperation and coordination between AES members. The most recent AES war game was held in Lestykhol 2019 and focused around arctic and naval warfare.
Counter-Insurgency Operations[edit | edit source]
Involvement in the Third Dest Civil War[edit | edit source]
In 2018 the Third Destland Civil War broke out, with the democratic opposition quickly taking land from Destland. The threat of loosing a vital member prompted the AES to reinforce the struggling Destland Armed Forces, assisting them with material aid and air support. Being a civil war it is not required for members of AES to support Destland. Rovsnoska currently has 3,000 soldiers and aircraft stationed in Destland.

Easternism[edit | edit source]
The core ideology of the Allied Eastern States is the concept of Easternism. Easternism proposes that Western ideology and imperialism works against Eastern Artemia, disrupting independent cultures and forcing economic hegemony upon the East. Only through the cooperaton and mutual assistance of Eastern Artemian nations can the east remain independent of the west. The core tenants of Easternism are the promotion of traditionalism and nationalism, ethnic self determination, mutual defense of the east, anti-communism, anti-imperialism, and the opposition of foreign interference and disruption.
