List of Tiperyn small arms, light weapons and cartridges

Terminology[edit | edit source]

All portable military weapons in Tiperyn service are given a type designation (listed below) and a numeric designation signifying the last two digits of the year the weapon was introduced. If the firearm is a derivative of another firearm already in Tiperyn service, a forward slash followed by a secondary numeric designation signifying the last two digits of the year the new variant was introduced is added.

  • Stoarmkarabyn (Skb.) (lit. storm carbine) - Designates assault rifles (select-fire, intermediate rifle cartridge, magazine-fed shoulder weapons).
  • Stoarmgewear (Sgw.) (lit. storm rifle) - Designates battle rifles (semi-automatic or select-fire, full rifle cartridge, magazine-fed shoulder weapons).
  • Masinepistoal (Mp.) (lit. machine pistol) - Designates machine pistols, defined as an automatic pistol-caliber handgun.
  • Masinekarabyn (Mkb.) (lit. machine carbine) - Designates submachine guns and automatic pistol-caliber carbines.
  • Masinegewear (Mgw.) (lit. machine rifle) - Designates squad automatic weapons, automatic rifles, general-purpose machine guns, and heavy machine guns.
  • Hagelgewear (Hgw.) (lit. hail rifle) - Designates shotguns.
  • Skerpskutersgewear (Sks.) (lit. sharpshooter's rifle) - Designates sniper rifles, anti-materiel rifles, and designated marksman rifles.
  • Pistoal (P.) (lit. pistol) - Designates pistols and revolvers.
  • Raketsmiter (Rks.) (lit. rocket thrower) - Designates rocket launchers, light anti-tank weapons, and anti-tank guided missiles.
  • Mortier (Mrt.) (lit. mortar) - Designates mortars.
  • Granaat (Gr.) (lit. grenade) - Designates grenades.
  • Lânmyn (Lm.) (lit. land mine) - Designates anti-personnel and anti-vehicle mines.
  • Bajonet (Bj.) (lit. bayonet) - Designates bayonets and utility knifes.

Defunct[edit | edit source]

  • Gewear (Gw.) (lit. rifle) - Designated all rifles. Most notably associated with bolt-action and early self-loading rifles from the 1870s to the early 1950s. No rifle designated Gewear is currently in service with the Tiperyn Realm Defence.
  • Karabyn (Kb.) (lit. carbine) - Designated shortened versions of full-length rifles. Most notably associated with shortened variants of bolt-action rifles and early self-loading rifles. No rifle designated Karabyn is currently in service with the Tiperyn Realm Defence.

First machine gun issued at the section level. Standard light machine gun for the Realm Defence from 1932 to 1944, replaced by the Mgw. 44. It was retained by the paratroopers, due to the lightness, magazine-feed, and compact-form factor when the barrel is detached until 1988 when replaced by the Mgw. 87.
