The Realm Armada was formed in the 14th century after the end of the House Wars. Originally the armada of the Grand Duchy of Tipslan, the force originally only composed of warships of Tipslan and expanded as other houses submitted to Tipslan. The Realm Armada was officially formed in 1345 shortly after the signing of the Stallings Concordant that founded the Tiperyn Realm. The service has played a significant role throughout Tiperyn's military history. In addition to engaging in decisive battles on the high seas and refining submarine tactics during the Grand Campaigns, the Realm Armada developed its doctrine of amphibious assault and naval air supremacy during the Kesh Wars of the late 1940s and 1950s. What could be viewed as the Realm Armada's modern doctrine was solidified in the 1960s shortly after the end of the Kesh Wars, establishing its division organization based around aircraft carriers and landing helicopter docks. In the modern day, the Realm Armada is viewed as Tiperyn's primary expeditionary warfare branch due to its unique capability to deploy ground, naval, and air forces worldwide with little to no need for support from its sister services. This is exemplified by its structural focus on multirole aircraft carriers, versatile combat aircraft, and well-armed and coordinated marine forces.
The service is administered by the Admiralty Board (Tipsprek: Admiraliteitbefel), which is chaired by the Realm Armada's highest ranking admiral who also acts as the service's representative on the Cabinet of Cardinals. The board is composed of the Chair Admiral, Admiral of the High Seas Fleet, Admiral of the Air Service, Admiral of the Fleet Expeditionary, Admiral of the Submarine Strike Fleet, and the 4 vice admirals in command of each of the High Seas Fleet's divisions.
Organization
The Realm Armada is organized into four basic branches: the High Seas Fleet, Fleet Air Service, Fleet Expeditionary, and Fleet Auxiliary. Each branch is commanded by an admiral and fills a specific niche within the Realm Armada. Overall, the Realm Armada is composed of 699,900 active-duty and 349,220 reserve-duty personnel, making it the largest uniformed service of the Tiperyn Realm Defence.
High Seas Fleet
The High Seas Fleet (Tipsprek: Heechseefloat) comprises the bulk of the Realm Armada's naval operating forces and is headed flagshipped by two non-nuclear supercarriers and two landing helicopter docks. The High Seas Fleet acts as a primarily operational blue-water fleet, while the Fleet Auxiliary is charged with homeland green-water and brown-water duties, as well as training and liaison duties. As of 2018, Tiperyn's 150 active-duty warships are assigned to the High Seas Fleet and divided into the Balearic Sea Division, Eurybian Sea Division, Tethys Ocean Division, and Iapetus Ocean Division. Each sea division is responsible for sea and air control in a sphere of influence determined by the Admiralty Board and is further subdivided into flexible and modular strike groups that may be built around the division's capital ship or a smaller warship depending on the mission.
Each division's aircraft carrier or landing helicopter dock acts as its flagship and is personally commanded by the division's vice admiral. Further, each flagship has carries a complement of aircraft assigned to its Fleet Air Service Capital Ship Air Wing or Assault Ship Air Wing. Although organized within the Fleet Air Service, each air wing is directly subordinate to their respective High Seas Fleet division. The oceanic divisions are focused primarily on the control of large swaths of ocean against large state fleets. By contrast, the sea divisions are focused on amphibious assault and support, with landing helicopter docks capable of deploying infantry, armor, and air assets onto land. The Iapetus and Tethys Ocean Divisions are also outfitted with a complement of battlecruisers that may serve as secondary capital ships that may lead strike groups in place of or in complement to a carrier strike group. Each division is outfitted with several attack submarines to act in support of surface fleet assets by stealthily countering enemy submarines and surface vessels. In addition to its complement of 150 warships, the High Seas Fleet is outfitted with 237 patrol boats for the purpose of fleet and overseas base security and limited littoral and riverine operations in support of naval and marine forces.
Additionally, each oceanic division has a group of ballistic missile submarines under the direct command of the admiral of the Submarine Strike Fleet attached to it. These groups are administratively assigned to their respective divisions are share their resources, but not subject to the purview of the division vice admiral. The High Seas Fleet's ballistic missile submarines composed one prong of Tiperyn's four-pronged nuclear deterrence strategy. This strategy includes submarine-launched ballistic missiles, land-based mobile and stationary ballistic missiles, aircraft-launched nuclear bombs and missiles, and artillery-launched tactical nuclear weapons in support of ground forces.
Fleet Air Service
The Fleet Air Service (Tipsprek: Floatluktmacht) is the naval air force component of the Realm Armada with approximately 1,550 aircraft in service. It operates a mixture of capital and assault ship air wings that operate from the Realm Armada's aircraft carriers and landing helicopter docks, as well as more conventionally structured air wings that operate from land-based naval air stations. The Fleet Air Service is considered to be Tiperyn's primary expeditionary air force, whereas the Realm Aero Service fields just over half the combat aircraft of the Fleet Air Service and operates primarily in the homeland air defense, heavy airlift, and space operations roles.
Aircraft inventory
The Fleet Air Service fields 1,550 aircraft. Of these, 651 are fixed-wing combat aircraft and 200 are training aircraft of various types. Additionally, the branch fields 388 helicopters and tiltrotor aircraft, 110 unmanned combat aerial vehicles, 30 tanker aircraft, 140 transport aircraft, and 30 early warning and control aircraft. Its entire fleet of fixed-wing combat aircraft, helicopters, tiltrotor aircraft, early warning and control aircraft, and unmanned aerial vehicles are capable of carrier operations.

Ares Gryphon M | ![]() |
Air superiority fighter, interceptor | 2001 | 95 | The Gryphon M acts as the Realm Armada's high capability air superiority fighter and interceptor. Approximately half of the Fleet Air Service's Gryphon fleet is assigned to its capital ship air wings. Each 38-aircraft Carrier Pursuit Group contains a squadron of 10 Gryphon M fighters.
Ares Siren M | ![]() |
Multirole fighter | 2004 | 312 | The Siren M acts as the Realm Armada's low capability multirole fighter. The Siren is a lighter, less costly and more numerous alternative to the Gryphon. Each 38-aircraft Carrier Pursuit Group contains two squadrons of 14 Siren M fighters each.
Ares Mosquito | V/STOL multirole fighter | 1981 | 190 | The Mosquito is a light multirole fighter and vertical and/or short take-off and landing capability. Largely phased out as the Realm Armada's primary light fighter by the newer Ares Siren, the Mosquito is still the primary aircraft capable of operating from the fleet's shorter landing helicopter docks. Thus, the Mosquito operates primarily in support of marines during amphibious operations as a strike aircraft.

Fleet Expeditionary
- See more: Fleet Expeditionary (Tiperyn)
The Fleet Expeditionary is the naval infantry component of the Realm Armada with approximately 270,000 active-duty and 179,000 reserve-duty personnel. It is the foremost expeditionary warfare service of the Tiperyn Realm Defence and is the Tiperyn military's most well-equipped combined-arms force.
Fleet Auxiliary
The Fleet Auxiliary (Tipsprek: Floathelptiid) is the support, sealift and replenishment force of the Realm Armada comprised of 129 auxiliary ships and 160 patrol boats.
Shore establishments
The Realm Armada operates from a network of worldwide shore-based fleet stations, ports and other facilities.
Capabilities
Fleet Carrier Squadrons
Realm Armada aircraft carriers are typically employed as the core of a Fleet Carrier Squadron, which consists of it, an escort carrier, several destroyers or frigates, and fast-attack submarines. This battle formation is one of Tiperyn's most powerful means of sea control and power projection.
